We are already gearing up to celebrate “300”; no not the movie, but the greatest celebration of the last three centuries, literally, of San Antonio, TX. We will have been a city for three hundred years as of 2018. As with anything in San Antonio, the party has officially started early and we are already celebrating this occasion. What is also neat about the Tricentennial is that there are more parts to this than just the celebration. The Tricentennial also encompasses SHINE 300 SA for our Arts and Culture, SERVE 300 SA for a Community Service Initiative, and The SPARK 300 SA for our History and Education. Each of these Initiatives will be built into our celebrations and more details can be found for these events on sanantonio300.org.
The greatest thing for us here at Lone Star Media is that we were selected to be the Official 300 Tricentennial Merchandiser for this event. We are extremely excited about this opportunity. We opened our doors just 2 short years ago, as of March 27. As a small business owned and operated here in San Antonio, we are honored and grateful to be such a huge part of this historical event here at home.
With all the #300Gear we are doing so far, we have Signs, Banners, Flags, Tents, Displays, Bumper Stickers, etc. We are also making sure that we have plenty of T-Shirts, Caps, Bags, Posters, Fiesta Medals and more to keep you covered.
San Antonio’s Tricentennial will be one for the books and this is a great example, as well, as to what types of products generate the greatest effects. The Advertising Specialty Institute ranks ‘Wearables’ as one of the favorite marketing items overall. ASI says that these wearable items are travelling billboards that promote your message everywhere they go. ASI also says that they “leave a lasting impression, making them crucial for building brand awareness.”
If you are working on your own brand remember that the items that seem to have stood the test of time are these wearables but also remember when building your brand and deciding on your logo, signs, marketing materials, etc. it is very important to look at your overall package. You need to look at your client base and find what speaks to them other than just your product. In situations like these, sometimes it is best to seek out the help of people who are in the industry of marketing, signage, design, such as us here at Lone Star Media, and have us assess your overall needs so you can clearly deliver your message to the people that need to hear it.
What makes these “wearable” items so important other than just the branding of our messages as the marketer, is the branding of each of us as individuals. We all have our unique passions and experiences and some of us love to tell the world a bit more about ourselves using our clothing, caps, bags, etc. We wear items that say where we have been, what brands we love, what events we were a part of, like our San Antonio’s Tricentennial event, or sometimes it’s because we got the item as a gift and it’s the last thing in our closet. Either way we are choosing to promote these messages of ourselves and the brands because they matter to us in one way or another.
Ok, so back to the Tricentennial …we are also involved in the licensing of 300 items. So far there will be a 300 wine, a 300 coasters and some others you’ll just have to wait and see. If you have an idea or would like to know more about possible licensing opportunities, please reach out to us. How neat would it be to have your own Tricentennial Product to offer up?
We will be selling 300 merchandise around the city in some of our coffee shops, airport stands, and at some local events. You can also check out our “300” store online. Don’t miss your chance to grab these once in a lifetime memories.
